The rescuers at The Animal Pad received a text and a photo of a street dog with a swollen face. The team was quite surprised and they immediately went to rescue the dog.
The dog was named Marvel and his green eyes immediately made the rescuers feel sorry for her. Marvel had a friend named Captain and he always remained there to cheer him up. The people near the street said that these 2 are best friends. Captain had a Transmissible Venereal “Tumor (TVT) and he also needed care.
The rescuers petted the dogs to make them comfortable and confident. Then they put them in the vehicle and took the dog to the shelter. The staff tried everything to save these 2 dogs. The staff rushed the dogs to the hospital in San Diego. The staff didn’t have a clue about the reason that caused Marvel’s face to swell.
The Animal Pad wrote in an Instagram post, “We don’t know if this is a dog bite or wound gone wrong, some sort of major infection, TVT that he contracted from his friend Captain..,” The hospital took Marvel to the ER as soon as they reached and Captain stayed there with the shelter staff.
Captain stole the heart of the staff at the hospital and was the sweetest boy while the examination was going on. On April 18th, 2024, the staff at The Animal Pad shared an update about the health of the dog.
“We still aren’t sure what was going on to cause this and have some cultures pending, but luckily it seems to have fully resolved! Marvel underwent surgery to remove tissue and this significantly reduced inflammation to his face and neck immediately.”
After a week of the rescue operation, Marvel’s face was back to normal again and his eyes gleamed with a new ray of hope. Captain was also given the treatment for TVT and both of them are doing great.
The pups now felt safe and were in a happy mood. For some time after the surgery, Marvel and Captain could not meet each other and therefore when it was time to finally meet each other, these 2 were so happy, They rushed to hug each other and were jumping with joy.
Now, the 2 dogs are living a happy life and have completely forgotten about the struggles they faced at the shelter.
