A small puppy, barely two months old, was crying for days out of pain until a man finally heard him and contacted Paw Squadron.
A member of the team traveled 250 miles to look for him. He spent all day looking for the pup until finally he found him near a trash can.
The pup was very thin and weak, and was also quite dirty, possibly from having been in the can for days.

When the PS member went near, he saw that the baby was shaking and also had a hind leg injury. He put his hand out and gave him some reassuring strokes, letting him know that help had arrived and he didn’t need to fear anymore.
Rescue and Initial Care
After that, he quickly poured out some water in a bowl and placed it before the pup. He was so weak that he barely had the strength to drink. It was heartbreaking to see him like that.
Unfortunately, he did not have any food on him at the moment apart from a few treats, so that’s all he could offer to the baby. But it seemed enough to give him some energy for the moment.

He seemed to perk up a bit after having the treats, so our PS guy picked him up and set him inside his car. He was so tired that he fell asleep soon after he started driving. In the middle, there was a short pee break, and then the drive resumed.
After peeing, the baby again fell asleep surprisingly fast. And now, finally, they were home.
He was very dirty, covered in trash and his own excreta. The rescuer tried to give him some water again, but he wasn’t thirsty, so he was taken to the bath. He was washed thoroughly with soap and shampoo so that by the time it was over, he was looking as fresh as a daisy.
Awaiting a Forever Home
And soon after, he fell asleep again—for the third time since his rescue. The next morning, he was treated to a king’s breakfast. What followed was a trip to the vet. He was very weak and weighed only 3.9 pounds. He was given antibacterial pills and a few shots.

By now, he had quite loosened up and become more playful. He was taken to the park where he met the youngest PS member, who was also a few months old like he was.
He has not been named yet and is currently awaiting adoption into his forever home. We hope he finds his loving home and family soon!
