Rescuers Find A Skeletal Beagle Near Death, But His Story Takes A Beautiful Turn

Growing up, all that Conrad, a senior Beagle, knew for the last ten years of his life was lack of care and torture.

He was discovered in terrible condition in one of the city’s animal shelters – he was basically shut down from the world.

Regardless of the uncertainty of Conrad’s position, the shape was quite clear. He looked sickly thin, his teeth were blackened, and he appeared clinically depressed.

This skeleton of a dog did not know anything except for pain during the last ten years, but everything was going to get better within days!

Heartbreaking story of Conrad

Conrad was set for euthanasia in the shelter where he was living when the Beagle Freedom Project team from Los Angeles, California, got wind of him.

After ten years in the home, in which he has never experienced anything but abuse, Conrad was a shelter dog with no hope of coming out of it. However, the team was good enough to act on it!

Pending his adoption, Beagle Freedom Project and the partnering rescue groups agreed to take in Conrad where the agency planned to give him the makeover he needed.

Kait, the social media manager of this Californian rescue, shares in the video that this senior boy clearly did not have the best life.

This poor boy is in horrible shape. You can see he is skeletal; there is no fat on the body at all, his hips are protruding; his backbone is protruding; he has very rough skin,” Kait added.

Fortunately, the community and his wonderful caregivers afforded him another shot in no time.

Conrad’s patient has been under care, treatment, and had dental surgery for weeks, and Conrad was beginning to allow himself to hope that all will end well.

The Wonderful News

Everyone was really shocked by how much Conrad was transformed!

But as you can see, nothing seemed to get on this senior boi’s skin, and true to his spirit and determination, he bounced and recovered amazingly fast!

“Of course, it’s nice to know that after a month of medical attention, quality meals, and dental treatment, Conrad himself seems to have improved considerably.

They are happy to report that he is getting back to living the life of a beagle—playing, running, and even rummaging for food in the bin, the rescue added in an update.

However, that was not the end of sweet Conrad for him. In the same post, the rescue provided the biggest update about this lovely dog. The post was made four months ago.

After several emotion-filled weeks in a new foster home, his dad could not resist pampering Conrad to the extreme!

This particular foster wanted to adopt Conrad instead of helping him look for a home where he belonged permanently.

Meant for serious cruelty throughout the entirety of his life, Conrad will finally live in a warm and comfortable home and have a loving family to call his own. And that’s pretty much everything he had been searching for all this time.

Happy golden years of your life, sweet boi.
