Dogs are quite the heroes as we know them and this named Rockie just proved it right. He donated his blood to a one-year-old dog and gave him a second chance at life.
For any dog lover, this story is definitely going to make you say “Aww” with the cheerful and helping nature of the dog.
It was back in July when a 1-year-old dog came to the Maury County Animal Service (MCAS). He was in a bad condition. And as per the shelter, it was a case of cruelty. He was being eaten by fleas. The blood cells and iron in the blood of Ice were severely depleted and he needed a blood transfusion.
On examining the condition of the dog, the shelter knew that he would need a generous blood donation to recover and Rockie became the hero for this dog named Ice.
Rockie had a great temperament and he was safe to work with therefore he was chosen for the blood transfusion. He was a healthy dog and met all the age, health, and temperament parameters.
The shelter started with the blood transfusion process and soon the whole process was completed. Usually, it takes 1 hour to finish and Rockie did make the most of his time.
With the help of Rockie, the adorable dog named Ice could get a second chance at life and recover soon. He could recover from the lack of blood cells and iron.
He is not yet up for adoption, as the shelter is still trying to track from where he came.
Rockie was awarded a medal for the good deed he performed and he deserved it so much. Right? As the end of August approached, it was time for the ham bone, which was approaching in 200 days.
The shelter was quite upset as to why such a cute dog had to wait for such a long time to get adopted. But, the cheerful dog stays happy all the time and that is what makes the people at the shelter happy.
After spending 198 days at the shelter, Rockie was finally adopted by the Johnsons. The family named him Kevin.
With his courageous endeavor and adorableness, Rockie is a hero. He saved the life of another dog and gave him a chance to live life again. To lead a cheerful life, a life that Ice deserved.
