Scared Jungle Poodle Bites Rescuer Before Realizing They’re His Saving Grace

Sometimes a single act of kindness can make a huge difference in a world where compassion is frequently overlooked. For a stray poodle living in fear, trapped in a jungle-like area, it was difficult to trust in the kindness being offered.

A stray poodle was living in a dense jungle-like area. He didn’t have a home and was living off scraps. He was alone and scared. A local spotted him and informed a dog rescue team to go help him.

When the team reached the location, they saw the little creature, sitting huddled behind some bushes, nervously peeking out at them. It seemed that he did not want to trust new people.

The rescuers had brought some food with them, which they used to lure him out from the bushes. He came out gingerly and sniffed them. Gradually, after a while, he began to nibble at the food items that they had brought along with them.

While he was eating, the rescuer duo started talking to him, trying to reassure him that they were here to help. The dog was eating the food but did not seem too eager to let the rescuers come near.

Almost 45 minutes passed in this way, and it was not long before the rescuers started running out of food. They could not let him go because they were afraid he would slip back into the bushes and they would lose all track of him.

A Transformation Begins

Then, one of the rescuers realized that she would need to do something drastic. She grabbed the dog gently and tried to put the leash around him. The dog squealed and started out of fear, but she kept holding on to him firmly.

The dog, with no idea what was happening, bit the rescuer. Not once, but several times. The wounds were so deep that it seemed like she would need to be sent to urgent care.

However, she bravely ignored her injuries and kept her concentration intact. Soon the dog seemed to calm down after the initial hysterics. Once he was more composed, he was taken to the car with the leash. He received his name—Washington.

He was taken to the center, where he was given a very thorough bath to wash off the dirt that had accumulated on his coat through weeks of neglect and being exposed to the outdoors.

After that, his matted fur was chipped away, and he looked much, much leaner than before. It was a remarkable transformation!

Meanwhile, the rescuer also got the much-needed help in the form of medicines and a few injections. Good for her!

He is currently residing at a foster home with his foster parents and other animal siblings. All that he needs is a nice, loving family to adopt him and make him a part of their family!
