Super Shy Pup Aaliah Waiting Two Years of for the Love She Deserved

At the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons, a dog named Aaliah was anxious and fearful. She would spend most of her time in the kennel, waiting for some adopters to notice her.

Time passed by and no one adopted her. She started to lose her confidence if she would ever get the love she deserved. The caregivers at the shelter cared for her and loved her too much but she always had a fear of not getting adopted.

But as we say, destiny has something special for everyone, there was something for Aaliah too. One day, a couple, Gabby and her partner, came to the shelter and they really loved the dog. The couple was unhappy that she had been there for 2 years. They decided to give the dog a try.

Gabby and her partner would come to the shelter daily and bring treats for Aaliah. When Aaliah was taken to the room, she got scared, and she went to hide in one corner. But, Gabby tried to calm her. She approached her, gave her a treat, and started caressing Aaliah with her hands. Aaliah loved the comfortable feel of the humans and slowly started to be comfortable.

But, there was still a lot of hesitation. She would go near the couple to take the treat and go away as soon as she gets it. The couple did not lose and came every day. Soon enough, Aaliah started to trust the couple and she would stay there even after getting the treat. The shelter knew that now she was ready to be adopted.

The couple took her home. During the first few days, Aaliah spent most of her time in the crate. She needed some time to adjust to the new environment.

Every time the couple came home, Aaliah would wag her tail in excitement. But, she was anxious and so always kept a distance. The couple kept on encouraging her and showered her with lots of love and attention. Soon, Aaliah started to show her personality.

The couple said that one week she would play with a toy, and next week she would go for a walk with them.

The couple and now Aaliah’s parents took her to a dog park where she loved to play with other dogs. A month later, she became very comfortable and would keep her head under their hands when she needed some pampering.
